    @laurierubell
    On Laurie Rubell: She has said many times “I cannot remember a time when I didn’t interpret the world through a paintbrush and tubes of color.” In addition,Laurie Rubell has lived her life as an artist,reshaping and redefining,creating innovative works of art. Although she has worked in several mediums(photography,drawing) Laurie Rubell is known for her large scale abstract oil paintings,often using 2 canvases to create one painting. For example this collection of unique artwork features lifetime of oil painting from Pre Millennium Classic neo expressionistic paintings to Modern abstract figurative Diptychs.( 2 canvas paintings.) For instance,she paints in an Abstract style,combining figurative and earth elements while emphasizing subtle yet bold brushwork. In addition to expanding the boundaries of her work she started using 2 canvases(Diptychs) to create one painting. As the brushstrokes are emphasized they combine to form organic shapes. And these organic shapes merge together to form unique imagery in the form of abstract figures and landscapes. She currently resides in Richmond,Virginia

    Love the craft of beauty in spaces. I'm a design researcher and recently painted 100 abstracts. I'm plotting my way through the many ways to adorn a space with color, texture and frame design. I have a feeling a second career as an interior designer is in the whispers of winds. I hope I'm quiet enough to hear it.

  • Kim Ford Kitz
    @kimfordkitz
    Kim Ford Kitz grew up in Southern California Beach towns, lived in San Francisco as a young adult and now lives and works in beautiful West Marin. In 2016 she had her first solo exhibition titled, "California" which presented her abstract landscapes at Seager Gray Gallery in Mill Valley, CA. Kitz is a California girl who comes by her West Coast aesthetic honestly, drawing inspiration from renowned Bay Area artists who came before her, like Richard Diebenkorn, Wayne Thiebaud, David Park, and Joan Brown. Kitz is best known for her acclaimed cityscapes of famous San Francisco locations, oftentimes foregoing famous SF landmarks and replacing them with made-up buildings and farm-fields that better conform to the artist's unique sense of balance and composition. These squares and rectangles, stacked in colorful boxes, line the streets that drop vertiginously towards the bay. Cutting in thick swathes of paint with palette knives Kitz gives these shapes a clarity and edge, which adds a sure-handed intensity to her work. Kitz exhibited a talent for painting and drawing throughout her childhood. When her youngest child began school, she became a full-time student at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, graduating with honors in 2005, and has since evolved to become a more abstract, and successful, artist. Kitz is having her second solo show exhibition at Seager Gray Gallery during the month of April, 2019. Shows title is, "Into the West". For more information contact at; kimfordkitz.com

  • Immo Jalass
    @immojalass
    I am creating free digital compositions which often started (years ago in the early beginning) with one or two photographs, which are then ‘worked out’ with more or less 100 steps of copying and pasting; maybe filterering, distorting, twisting, and/or change the perspective to make it more abstract, again colouring, setting brush strokes, perhaps lines; some ‘decoloring’; ‘recoloring’; stretching; detailed form and color changing; copying one art piece into another one; making it transparent; giving some contrast; sizing and resizing, etc., until the image is complete and not one of the original photographic pixels is left. They are associations of the world around us and its reflections - often a kind of fantastic situation where everything seems to make a new kind of sense. Immo at http://galeriejalass.tripod.com

  • Hans Peter Follmi
    @hans_peter_follmi
    His photography is characterized by the fascinating way in how form and color are influenced by the ever altering light. It is my main motive to catch just that image. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 15.0px; font: 13.0px Arial}There is no difference in the process, whether it is about landscape or an object in space, he is always looking for the surprising stillness in which tranquillity and abstraction are returning elements. By constantly abstracting and minimising my observations he trys to reduce the image back to its bare essence. This is his objective. Nothing more and nothing less.
  • Designfenzider
    @designfenzider
    Designfenzider's hybrid objects combine material wit with aesthetic play; they sit on the fat, delicious line between the abstract and the functional. The collection includes domestic objects that range from a minimal "fruit bowl" comprised of a sleek supporting plate paired with an architectural fence, to a "half-function" porcelain top that creates a vase when placed on any container, and a chandelier of desk-lamps. The objects, which vary from one-off to limited editions and production pieces, have no "expiration date". They reside in both public and private collections worldwide. Designfenzider asks unceasing questions in 3D form, and fabricates answers that create an arena for fertile doubt.
  • Maxine Sutton
    @maxine_sutton
    I love the idea of the workshop household described by Mark Rosenthal, and believe in the importance of our interaction with materials, texture, pattern, and the handmade. Recent research evoked memories of home and childhood. Decorative patterns on wallpapers and fabrics reminded me how important patterns were to me as a child, providing endless starting points for day dreams and imaginative, sometimes fearful, scenarios. I remembered how the familiar furniture and objects in my grandparent’s houses and my own acted as an assortment of scenery and props for games and stories to be built around. The home-made object, creates another layer of significance and forms a part of personal and family narratives, making links and connections through generations. My work continues to explore the interplay between screen-printed and embroidered textures, colour, mark, drawn and stitched lines. Recently playing with imagery and ideas springing from our relationship with familiar domestic objects, everyday pastimes, the meaning of ‘home’ and home-making activities. Abstract and semi-figurative forms combined with pattern and texture present an ambiguous and sometimes absurd narrative. Using Irish machine, and hand embroidery the work employs a combination of traditional techniques, such as applique, patchwork, needle-punch and screen print. Forms, are hand drawn, paper cut, found or photographic; layered and collaged with abstract and semi figurative appliquéd, needle-punched and printed imagery. Embroidered lines and richly embroidered areas create further layers of texture and tension. Sustainability is a priority, materials a mixture of natural organics such as cotton, hemp, linen and wool combined with found/recycled/vintage materials. Embroidered elements use plant dyed wool yarn, cotton, alpaca, silk and linen.
