  • Agence Brengues Le Pavec architectes
    @agencebrengueslepavecarchitectes2101
    Located in Montpellier, in the south of France, the Brengues Le Pavec architecture agency does all types of projects in contemporary and refined architecture. As early as the design stage, the research is geared towards a simple volume make up in order to generate and highlight the essence of the project. The quest for harmony passes through a game full of proportions and emptiness, transparency, contrast and brightness to create a balance on the entire construction. Every new project is a human adventure. A necessary and real exchange begins so as to better appreciate the mode of operation or the lifestyle sought. It is about bringing personality to the project, giving a soul to future spaces, creating a tailor-made architecture. The principle of the agency is to consider interior fittings and appropriate furniture in the smallest details. The agency favours noble and raw materials that bring warmth to spaces. Due to the constant search for detail and quality finishes, the agency is entrusted with several prestige orders where design and refinement are the order of the day. These services, aimed at discreet luxury, have allowed the agency to appropriate great knowledge of the skills and "high-end" products. This exchange of experience and answers, both conceptual and constructive, on a variety of programmes, generates a reflection and new response to the gains and habits that could be created. The diversity of the subjects studied gives us a different outlook on all the possible fields of architectural application, such as the habitat (individual house, flat, collective housing...), or the tertiary (showroom, trade, restaurant, hotel, building offices, headquarters, logistics platform...). The agency carries out all kinds of jobs, such as new projects, extensions, renovations, rehousing... This plurality of projects allows the agency to take a global look at the current architectural production.
  • AKB Inc
    @AKB
    Founded in 2004, Atelier Kastelic Buffey is the Toronto-based architecture studio of Robert Kastelic and Kelly Buffey, architects dedicated to the practice and art of building. The quest to capture the poetic and ineffable qualities of space manifests in AKB’s design process, which prioritizes a clarity of vision, attention to detail, and a rigorous commitment to conceptual intent. The work of the studio benefits from Robert and Kelly’s extensive training in both architecture and interior design: AKB is able to execute projects at an extremely high level of resolution, evidenced by a quiet simplicity and an uncommon level of refinement. A unified and holistic approach to interior and exterior space merges building and landscape into a seamless experience, transforming the ephemeral into the tactile. Elements of volume, light, proportion and materiality are orchestrated to resonate and respond to each project's unique site, context and program. The resulting buildings are warmly engaging, elegant and functional. AKB recognizes the importance of a collaborative process in maintaining an open dialogue with their clients, ensuring all needs and desires are met. Meticulous research, precedent studies and the deployment of current sustainability strategies enable the studio to fuse the practical and the abstract in an architecture that is creative, inspired and enduring.

  • Christopher Jenner
    @christopherjenner
    British designer Christopher Jenner’s work is grounded in a deep appreciation of the complexity within nature, which he first experienced as a child in South Africa. As in nature, his work is an assembly of elements and forms rooted in interconnected relationships. Having travelled the world extensively after graduation from the Johannesburg School of Art and the Boston School of Design in Cape Town, he settled in London where he established his studio in 2010. From inception his work captured the mood change in society, provoked by the financial crisis, recognising the shift towards deeper values and a justified creative expression. Working globally he implements a concept of ‘fractal analysis’, a strategic process of discovery whereby a challenge is deconstructed into multiple facets representing the inherent values (heritage, product, personality) of a project. Assembling these elements into magical solutions, Christopher Jenner’s work uniquely evokes reaction. Detailed and textured, the work is kaleidoscopic in effect, similar in nature to pointillism where the eye creates its own picture from a subliminal application of colour and texture. The Studio does not work to a set of ‘good or bad’ design aesthetics, preferring to pursue work of depth and quality with its own set of emotive values. His commitment to artisanal skill is evident in the immense detail of his work. It brings tangible refinement to the finished article and valuable support to highly specialised crafts.
  • P'Kolino
    @p_kolino
    J.B. and I met at Babson where we were classmates in the full-time MBA program. We very quickly learned that we shared the same desire to build a more rewarding life for ourselves and our families. To us this meant starting a company, doing what we love and involving our families in that experience. What seems like only yesterday, in May 2004, J.B. and I met to brainstorm how we could achieve this not-so-simple goal. Being parents we knew the home is one of the primary environments where children play and learn. We saw a need to improve play at home; particularly play furniture. Together we decided that was the perfect fit and P'kolino was born. While students we refined this concept, often sharing ideas and sketching new products in class (don’t tell our professors). We wanted to create play furniture that was designed for children (not miniature adults) and how they play and grow mentally, physically and socially…all while making the products beautiful (after all adults have to live at home too). We sponsored research with the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) where faculty member Lothar Windels led a team of students from RISD's Furniture Design Department. The result of this collaboration was the P'kolino Play Table. This product development process was immortalized in a video documentary. Once this class was completed we focused on product refinement, the business planning process and, oh yeah…completing our degrees, which - we did. To date P'kolino has achieved what it set out to do! We love it, our families are abundantly involved and our products bring joy to other parents and children. What could be better than that?!

  • Pastoe
    @pastoe
    Simplicity, timelessness, quality and craftsmanship have all been at the centre of Pastoe's philosophy for more than ninety years now. Since we were founded in 1913, we have been making progressive contemporary furniture that pays due attention to tradition and craftsmanship. And that applies as much to our cabinet systems and seating as to our tables. Pastoe invests in innovation and design to bring you surprisingly contemporary furniture that remains so. Durable aesthetics and a high standard of quality are concepts on which a lot of time is spent at Pastoe; by our furniture makers -with great care and knowledge-, and by our designers -with much passion and dedication. This is the source of our designs' strength. Well-thought out and surprisingly simple furniture. Comfortable and easy on the eye, never intrusive and even remarkably familiar. Pure and fair, as if they've been around for years. Because a product needs to be more than its outward appearance. It needs personality; you should be able to love it, to get attached to it. The product needs to be able to age graciously. Pastoe stands for quality which has been reflected for decades in our design policy and the way we make our furniture. Quality in which we invest afresh every day, because we see renewal as a next step in the refinement of technology, or an addition to functionality. No cosmetic interventions but, quite to the contrary, an increase in visual and material durability. Pastoe understands as no other how valuable history is for the future. Our past is both a source of inspiration and of commitment. That is the task Pastoe has assigned itself. That's why we continue to invest consistently in innovation, simplicity and quality. In furniture of few words, in furniture for life. We trust that we can continue bringing you such furniture long from now.
