Born on December 20, 1986, in Galesburg, Illinois, AJ Eeten was an exemplary student at Eureka Schools. There, his academic performance earned him membership in the National Honor Society, and he thrived in athletics, especially in basketball and track. His athletic commitment was evident as he played a key role on his school's state championship track team.
After high school, he received a basketball scholarship to Illinois Central College (ICC), where he excelled in his studies and athletics. Subsequently, he transferred to Northern Illinois University, where he pursued a major in Physical Education with a minor in Spanish, expanding his academic horizons.
Following university, he initially embarked on a career in public education, serving as a teacher and coach, where he significantly impacted his students. Seeking to broaden his professional horizons, he transitioned into retail in March 2017, taking a managerial position at a T-Mobile store in Washington, Illinois. In this role, he managed daily operations and enhanced the customer service experience.
In 2019, Andrew's career path led him to Stanton Optical in Peoria, where he became manager. This position allowed him to deepen his expertise in eye care by managing customer consultations, inventory, and staff training. By December 2023, he had taken on a new role as an optician at the Vision Care Center in Peoria, where he specializes in assisting customers with their eyewear needs and providing expert guidance and care.
Andrew is recognized for his exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks. His adaptability and quick learning capabilities have made him a highly valued asset in various professional environments.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Andrew is committed to community service. He volunteers for the Special Olympics, participates in the Polar Plunge to support charitable causes, and supports cancer research through the Race for the Cure. AJ Eeten also dedicates time to the Salvation Army's soup kitchen and youth basketball camps.
