James Franco’s Former West Hollywood Home Hits the Market at $6.25M

By Jennifer Baum Lagdameo
It’s so close to the legendary Chateau Marmont that you could probably order room service.

Sitting in the shadow of the notorious West Hollywood hotel Chateau Marmont, the villa at 8222 Marmont Lane was originally built during the Golden Age of Hollywood in 1923. Then thoughtfully remodeled, it was home to actor James Franco before he sold it back in 2010.

Now the celebrity home is back on the market for $6,250,000. Totaling 5,215 square feet, the interiors feature an open-plan layout that blends contemporary and traditional styles. There is sleek, built-in cabinetry; luxury finishes; dark-stained floors; and wood-beamed ceilings throughout. The outdoor spaces are surrounded by expertly manicured grounds and mature trees. There is also a private swimming pool—although it looks like some of the hotel guests might be able to have a clear view.

The West Hollywood home was originally built in 1923.

The living space features a section of ceiling with exposed wood beams, wood-paneled walls surrounding a traditional fireplace, and a wall of steel-framed windows which fill the room with natural light.
