I was exposed early in life to the world of design. My father built custom homes and my mother assisted with the floor plans and interior decorating. I was fortunate to have had great mentors who supported my creativity. At age 9 I won a prize in a community art competition for a drawing. At age 12 I began rearranging the furnishings, accessories and art work in the homes for those I babysat. They liked what I did. As I entered the adult world, I was a account representative for numerous high end fashion houses such as Chanel and Christian Dior. Twenty years of retail lead me into becoming a corporate event theme designer for an event production company. Gardening has always been a passion of mine so I took a break from the corporate life and worked at a wholesale nursery where I learned to design plantings and urban landscapes for multiple apartment complexes, city centers and hotels. I've worn many hats as they say, yet, all of what I've mentioned here, along with many not mentioned, each relates to the world of design which is; Figuring out what's being asked, figuring out how it can be done and then… creating it. We are glassmakers. We are designers. We are a small committed team of people who put great care into our products. Hennepin Made was founded in Minneapolis in 2011 through the partnership of Joe Limpert and Jackson Schwartz with the common belief that handmade products have an essential place in our culture and everyday life. Joe was originally trained as a ceramicist and has always enjoyed the visceral nature of working with “hands on” materials. When he discovered glass he knew a switch was in order. This transition enabled an immediate fascination with the craft that lead to an apprenticeship with his instructor, Jackson Schwartz, who had returned from the Canberra School of Art in Australia. During the two years there were numerous conversations, dinners, and experiments with handmade glass in mind. This “research” informed a philosophy which was coupled with an entrepreneurial spirit to found Hennepin Made.

Nicholas Liou grew up in California. Inspired by his parent's small business growing up, he pursued his business degree at UC Berkeley. Upon graduation, Nicholas Liou worked at PwC for 4 years. Nicholas Liou spent his first two years working in financial services tax. These two years were instrumental in developing his understanding of business as they grounded him in accounting. Next, Nicholas Liou transitioned into PwC's management consulting business, where he worked in the mergers and acquisitions practice. There he helped clients think through and implement large cross-functional transactions through narratives pieced from data. After his two-year stint in M&A, Nicholas Liou decided to pursue his MBA to transition into the tech industry where he seeks to serve as a strategic leader for global companies.

George Haywood's academic journey started at Brightwood Elementary School, transitioning to Saint Albans School, where his academic and athletic talents were displayed, notably as co-captain of the soccer team and captain of the academic quiz team and these formative years led to his early admission to Harvard College at 16, majoring in biology, an early indicator of his intellectual capacity.

eGeneration is a fourteen-year-old store dealing in Mid-Century vintage furniture, with a focus on the 50's. The store specializes in vintage pieces from American and Danish designers, such as Florence Knoll, George Nelson, Edward Wormley, Jens Risom, Milo Baughman, Hans Wegner, Arne Jacobsen and Borg Mogensen. The store combines a large selection of everyday pieces with hard to find collectibles, but what really makes it unique among Mid-Century outlets is the consistency in selection, style and price. reGeneration owners Christine Miele and Valerie Guariglia, sold their furniture at the flea markets and to other dealers before opening their first store in the East Village in 1993 on a shoestring budget and with a little help from friends. Four years later Miele and Guariglia opened a second store on Renwick Street in west SoHo, the first store to open its doors in the area, best known at the time for its hot dog trucks and industrial warehouses. The Renwick Street space, a converted sausage casing factory, was originally intended as a warehouse for their expanding business. However, it soon became their second store.
