His academic pursuits led him to the University of Minnesota, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, graduating with high distinction in 1977—a notable start to an impactful journey.
Presently, he stands at the forefront of Mercy Veterinary Service in Baldwin, WI, a low-cost clinic he established to ensure comprehensive veterinary care is within reach for all pet owners. His expertise in small animal medicine, surgery, and veterinary dentistry is evident in his daily work. He also offers his services as a relief veterinarian in Amery, WI, further extending his reach and positive influence in the veterinary field.
Brian's venture into veterinary medicine formally began after earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1983. Initially, he immersed himself in mixed animal practice in Burlington, WI, accruing invaluable experience. In 1985, he demonstrated his commitment to global welfare, dedicating 2.5 years to aid efforts in Haiti. His journey continued in Baldwin, WI, where he took ownership of a veterinary practice in 2001 while contributing to the community as President of the Pierce St. Croix Humane Society.
The sale of his practice in 2016 marked a new chapter, yet his dedication to animal welfare remained steadfast, leading to the establishment of Mercy Veterinary Service in 2021. His philanthropic spirit shines through in his volunteer work with Today's Harvest Food Shelf, his support for the global initiatives of Mercy Corps, and his veterinary contributions to Barefoot Crow Animal Rescue.
