Adrian Alexander of New York, born in Bucharest, Romania, in 1946, emigrated to the United States in 1964 after completing high school. Possessing both U.S. and Italian citizenship, he faced early adversity when his father passed away just six months after their arrival. He assumed the responsibility of supporting himself and his mother while pursuing his education, earning a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from NYU in 1970 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1972.
His academic achievements came during a challenging period. He balanced his responsibilities at home with his studies, displaying remarkable resilience. This foundation of hard work and perseverance paved the way for a successful career in investment banking and beyond.
From 1972 to 1978, he worked at Morgan Stanley & Co., recruited straight from Harvard, and then at Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb as VP of Mergers and Acquisitions. His career then took an international turn, and he moved to Milan, Italy, in 1978 to work for Egon Zehnder, a global executive search firm, until 1983. This experience broadened his professional horizons as he recruited executives in Italy and across multiple countries.
Upon returning to the U.S., his entrepreneurial spirit thrived. In 1980, he acquired and revitalized Minneapolis Sport, a struggling sporting goods franchise, and successfully sold it to its franchisees. His strategic and operational skills were further showcased from 1987 to 1990 when he joined Polly Peck International, Plc as Vice President of Acquisitions, significantly expanding the company’s U.S. operations by acquiring Del Monte Fresh Fruit Company and other businesses.
His advisory roles continued as he helped transform regional corporate stationery into a $2 billion multinational office products distributor from 1991 to 1994. In 1996, he founded the Phoenix Real Estate Fund in New York, acquiring and managing over 200 properties before selling the fund at the end of 1999. He founded Technology Seed Capital in 2000, an early-stage venture capital fund focused on technology startups.
In the mid-2000s, Adrian Alexander of New York became a partner in Limores.net, an innovative online platform for ground transportation that preceded Uber and Lyft. Later, from 2006 to 2014, he turned around an imaging center in Astoria, New York, eventually selling it. 2010, he established Health Settlement, LLC, providing financial solutions for personal injury cases and partnering with U.S. Claims in 2014.
On a personal level, he enjoys intellectual challenges like chess and poker, reflecting his strategic mindset. Celebrating his 29th wedding anniversary with his wife Susi in July 2025 and proud of his children's milestones, Adrian Alexander of New York exemplifies a life of resilience, strategic acumen, and family devotion.
