General Assembly is a full service interior design studio specializing in the renovation of existing spaces. Working in a variety of contexts, General Assembly specializes in custom residential and commercial projects. General Assembly's method is rooted in the search for unique and elegant design, individually suited to each client, rather than the imposition of "one size fits all" theory. General Assembly believes that every project presents its own challenges and provides an opportunity to discover innovative, elegant solutions. It is not enough for a space to look beautiful if it does not function beautifully. Prior to starting General Assembly in 2007, Sarah Zames honed her skills at several international firms, including Skidmore Owings and Merrill, Tod Williams and Billie Tsien Architects, and Rafael Viñoly Architects. Sarah earned a Masters in Architecture from UCLA and a Bachelor’s degree from New York University.
