Born USA 1980 BA College of William & Mary MFA Rochester Institute of Technology Currently based in Columbus, Ohio My body of work is diverse in intention and themes, but unified by the use of symbolic and narrative surface decoration as a means of communication. Continued investigation in slip application has led to my precise vocabulary of lines, layers, patterns, colors and textures. The pieces I produce cannot always be neatly classified as art, design or craft. Instead of pigeonholing work in one distinct area, I see these concepts as three points on a graph- some of my work is more towards one point, some is closer to another. The versatility of ceramics invites me to explore across genres.
