The bed in the master bedroom is a custom JHID design in ebony-stained fir. Lighting is kept subtle, in the form of an overhead fixture by Schoolhouse Electric and wall sconces by Workstead. The arrows are by Fredericks and Mae.

Inspired by the great plains of the midwest, the Frederick C. Robie House in Chicago (constructed 1910) is renowned as the the greatest example of the Prairie School architectural style and the most famous of Wright’s Prairie Houses.

The space below the stairs in this revamped Brooklyn brownstone was turned into a cheerful play area for the clients' two boys. "We built an egg shaped 'nook' underneath the staircase, and filled it with soft ‘pebble’ pillows," adds architect Frederick Tang.

"This is Mae's room; she is ten. The bedding is all linen, some of which we made, and the the rest is old family linen from France. We painted the fox and cat portraits on cardboard for a trade show that Mae liked. She always scoops things up when she visits the office." -Sophie Demenge

The bath’s Kohler Purist fixtures and Frederick Weinberg animal figures sit on a Corian countertop

Midcentury architect Frederick Monhoff originally designed this Santa Monica home. Over the years, multiple renovations have expanded the home’s original 1,200-square-foot floor plan—including a garage addition in 1952 and an extension of the main house in 1964.

To open the interior space, existing windows were replaced with floor-to-ceiling glass and folding doors.
