"Fish Tales: Between Earth and Ice," Peregrine Design/Build Where water and land meet along the rocky shores of Lake Champlain, the winds and currents wash up sharpened slabs of ice, a phenomenon this shanty by Peregrine Design/Build recreates with its jagged, glistening roof.

The Outward Bound cabins, designed by the University of Colorado Denver's design-build program, have steel frames that lift the structures above a three-foot snowpack while supporting corrugated-steel "snow roofs."

Design-build firm StudioMET helped Sunil and Shelly Patel create a multigenerational home in Houston. The brick wall in the living area is accented with bricks salvaged from the original house on the site. The lounge chairs, sectional, and ottoman/ table are from Article. In the dining area, a pendant from Avenue Lighting hangs above a custom copper table. The draperies are from The Shade Store.
