Caesarstone and Tom Dixon are collaborating on "The Restaurant," a showcase of four conceptual kitchens and dining rooms designed by Dixon. Stop by La Rotonda della Besana, Via Enrico Besana 12.

In this kitchen, the existing cabinets were updated with a coat of paint and topped with new Caesarstone countertops. The refrigerator, dishwasher, and mixer are from KitchenAid, and the cooktop is from GE.

Caesarstone will introduce its new Fresh Concrete, Sleek Concrete, and Raw Concrete colors. The colors offer the look of concrete with the ease of Caesarstone maintenance. Slabs are non-porous and resistant to heat, stains, and scratches.

The kitchen is Owen’s favorite room thanks to its ample sunlight light: about 60 linear feet of floor-to-ceiling windows face the counter. He describes the kitchen as a great place to have hors d’ouevres and hang out with friends. The fixtures are from IKEA and the countertop is Caesarstone.

By enclosing a small deck, the couple was able to expand and remodel the kitchen. Painted plywood cabinets add a streamlined aeshetic. The refrigerator is Sub-Zero, the cooktop is Thermador, and the hood, dishwasher, and double-wall oven are Bosch. The countertop is Caesarstone's Frosty Carrina.

From the Central Pavilion: The winner of the Silver Lion, this installation features large scale models of the Paulo Mendes da Rocha’s Serra Dourada Stadium in Brazil and Grafton Architects’ UTEC university campus in Lima. The influence that the Brazilian Pritzker prize has had on the Irish architects is revealed by the researched subjects as “built geography," “abstracted landscape," “landscape and infrastructure,” and “the horizon and the human being” (suggestive of a comparison of the landscapes of Machu Picchu in Peru and Skellig Michael off the west coast of Ireland). It also explores the possibilities of the ‘Free Section’ as a representation and work resource for big scale projects that encourage fluid, generous, open, and massive spaces.

Master builder and certified home inspector Karl Champley has been involved in the building trade for more than 20 years, and on two continents. He has appeared on a number of DIY Network programs, including as a host on Wasted Spaces and DIY to the Rescue. In episode one of Ellen's Design Challenge on HGTV, Champley paired with Katie Stout for a successful final outcome, winning the top prize of the show.
