Like all of the restored structures, the interior of the school house features a modern and bright aesthetic. The cottages range in size from one bedroom up to a nine-bedroom main house.
Taking cues from their style-conscious clients, Jessica Helgerson Interior Design transformed an Amagansett home into a light-filled, Scandinavian-inspired getaway.
In contrast to the dark exterior, the interior of the main residence is dressed in a stark shade of white, complementing the original hardwoods lining the floor throughout. Various sized windows line the walls, inviting an abundance of natural light inside.
In the living room, tall leaning shelves frame handcrafted artwork. A geometric bronze coffee tables complements the green velvet sectional, which offers plenty of space to gather.
French doors seamlessly connect the main living room to the nearby outdoor patio.

A collection of artful furnishings rounds out the scheme in Loft Ninho. The cool gray Saccaro sofa and rug by Domdaqui Tapetes balance out the wood tones, while a spectrum of green accents, starting with the mint trim, bring welcome pops of contrast.
The wood herringbone floors were lightened, and bold furniture was brought in to brighten up the space. A circular custom sofa designed by MKCA, upholstered in a bright blue synthetic textile from Maharam, serves as the centerpiece of the room, readily available for family time, intimate conversation, or parties. Surrounding a vintage brass table are a sculptural chair by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and poufs upholstered in shaggy mohair.  The carpet by MKCA is made from joining two shapes of broadloom synthetic silk together.
A gray onyx and bronze fireplace mantel is flanked by turquoise glass sconces and a vintage Fontana Arte mirror. Alongside sits a bone console and a sculptural stainless steel shelving unit by François Monnet. The room features a painting by artist Ilona Savdie, and drawings by Karin Haas.
A Ligne Roset Callin Lounge Chair and footstool from Domo Australia offer comfort and softness within the soaring angles of the interior.
Takeshi Nii’s Ny chair is paired with a Reese sofa and cherry Grove nightstand from Room & Board in the living room.
The Valles Suite screams rustic luxury with warm textiles and accents, contemporary furnishings, a wood-burning fireplace, and natural elements.
The living room opens to a spacious outdoor deck.
North-facing skylights were cut out from the roof to brighten the interiors and establish a visual connection to the bushy site.
Key pieces of joinery were used to visually distinguish the thresholds defining the foyer, living and dining areas, kitchen, butler’s pantry, and study.
The interiors are a mix of vibrant wallpapers that create murals to provide color and design, geometrically patterned Mexican tiles and designer furniture.
By combining a carefully chosen selection of items from Home Depot, Walmart, Target, Lowes, and IKEA with vintage and designer accessories, the couple have managed to infuse a variety of styles into the camper, while staying within their budget.
Built with weathered timber, it's equipped with hydro-electric and geothermal power.
Designers Sara and Rich Combs of The Joshua Tree House brought The Assembly to life with a soothing neutral color scheme and quirky vintage furnishings and decor.
The pastel-colored couches echo the facades on the row houses lining the C&O Canal outside.
A light blue sofa bed was purchased from IKEA.
To one side of the entrance door is a large, light blue, chaise lounge-style sofa bed.
The living room features elegant wallpaper from Thibaut.
Custom white oak by Contempo Floor Coverings spreads across the floor in the open living area.  Malibu Market and Design supplied the metal coffee table, and the rug was picked up at Restoration Hardware.
The living room furniture includes  a Williams-Sonoma floor lamp  and a custom ottoman made by Prestige Furniture and upholstered in Romo fabric. The residents doubled the number of windows in the dimly lit house.
