Dwell—which maintains two primary offices in San Francisco and New York—considers Los Angeles, host to our annual Dwell on Design show, as its third home. In homage, we've put together a local guide to modern design, from midcentury architecture to emerging designers.

Midcentury remodels are the bailiwick of Dwell's Los Angeles coverage, so we're always excited for midcentury-focused home tours, like the one MAK Center organized in 2014 showing off six area houses designed by architect Rudolph Schindler.
