While British author Virginia Woolf heralded the benefits of “a room of one’s own,” writer, master gardener, and outdoor shed-enthusiast Debra Prinzing rallies for an entire structure created for private retreat: a POD, personal outdoor dwelling.

Prinzing, whose book Stylish Sheds and Elegant Hideaways was published in 2008, teamed up with us earlier this year as our expert for the February 2009 "Dwell Reports" about the perfect prefab buildings for your backyard. Next Thursday, March 5, she’ll be speaking in San Francisco at Flora Grubb Gardens, one of our favorite spots in the city, as part of The Garden Conservancy’s 2009 Garden Design Talks.
