Singer-songwriter Halsey is selling her impressive midcentury home in Los Angeles. The pop star and expecting mother purchased the double-gated property in 2019 for $2,400,000. Set on a lush, tree-filled lot in the quiet Sherman Oaks community, the 2,425-square-foot dwelling offers four bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms, and tons of original charm.

The single-story residence was designed in 1959 by renowned architect Richard Dorman, AIA, and has been impeccably preserved throughout the decades. "This property is one of the best examples of Richard Dorman’s work that Los Angeles has to offer," says listing agent Josh Myler. "To add to its allure, the home is positioned on a quiet street in a great location and sits on a very large, flat lot."

Upon arrival, a generous entryway leads to the home’s primary gathering spaces. A brick fireplace anchors the open living room, which is fitted with a calming and neutral palette.

Inside the home, an open-plan layout weaves the primary living areas together. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows sweep in ample natural light, while original details—such as post-and-beam structures, tongue-and-groove ceilings, and a brick fireplace—pay homage to the building’s past.

Recessed lighting stretches across the ceilings and walls, adding a warm glow throughout the home’s interior.

Floor-to-ceiling glazing spans one of the walls in the living room and provides direct access to the backyard. Skylights puncture the tongue-and-groove ceilings, while open shelving behind the sofa offers plenty of space to display collected memorabilia.

The home is also very well equipped for modern living, with a large chef’s kitchen and an office, as well as a state-of-the-art recording studio. Glossy terrazzo floors blend with black-framed windows and wooden accents, all of which enhance the dwelling’s already sophisticated flair.
