This New Hotel in Poland Is a Creative Paradise
In the heart of Kraków, Poland, is where you'll find PURO Kraków Kazimierz, a beautiful new 228-key hotel nestled within a bustling creative community. Designed in collaboration with ASW Architects and Conran + Partners, each room features an individual curation of visual modern art that was sourced from artists both locally and throughout Europe.
For instance, five Polish illustrators were commissioned to create three different pieces of artwork inspired by the Kazimierz neighborhood.
From a futurist graffiti mural on the reception wall by local street artist Nawer to the modernist city-scape collages by Mateusz Szczypiński, the hotel has sought to provide guests with a unique, artistic experience, mixed with a curated sense of design at every turn.
Furniture has been sourced from various places throughout Europe, with pieces by Denmark’s Carl Hansen & Son, Fritz Hansen, By Lassen, Mater and Gubi; Italy’s Moroso and Baxter; Sweden’s Fogia; and Spain’s Kettal. The hotel also boasts two independent eateries, which feature local breads and pastries as well as high-quality, locally-sourced dishes with a sophisticated twist. Even the the on-site spa uses products from Alba1913, one of Poland’s oldest holistic health and beauty specialists.
