From the Architect: "The project is a series of extensions and renovations to a post-war home. Art Deco cues were borrowed from the front of the home to the rear. The red brick of the existing home became a design generator for red-veined marble and joinery highlights throughout. A sunken living room was incorporated to create a seamless transition to the outdoors across the gently sloping site. Exposed hardwood rafters provide warmth and rhythm to the living spaces and contrast beautifully against the exposed brick pavers in the sunken lounge."
