The house is well-equipped for guests, with multiple sleeping areas. The main guest room features a custom reclaimed oak bed by BenchCraft and a Callan chair from Room & Board.
The units don't even require foundations—simple ground screws from Krinner are enough to support them.

Taking inspiration from barns, warehouses, Case Study Houses, and Japanese residential architecture, architect Marcus Lee and his wife, Rachel Hart—an architectural model maker—created a unique timber-framed home in Hackney, London. In the kitchen, the Corian kitchen island unit acts as a real hub with a television tucked away under the worktop. However, the kids sit at the island for breakfast and other meals, and when guests come, they end up sitting there and talking while the owners are cooking.

"Quite a few of our things come from places like Bolia, BoConcept and Hay, combined with flea market finds and DIY pieces. I built that table together with my dad. I had been looking for a table that would function both as a desk and a dining table for quite some time, but what I found wasn't either quite right or just too expensive. So I asked my dad, who's very handy, if he'd come to Berlin for a weekend and help me build my own table. It's exactly how I wanted it. The chairs came from a vintage store around the corner. I don't know if it's true, but the owner told me they were once used in a church in Denmark, and I varnished them to match the table top."
Danish designer Søren Rose is known for his modern take on a classic material: marble. And though this particular dining table is made from wood, Rose reclaimed the planks from none other than a marble factory. The multi-colored blocks in the surface are Corian, used to fill in gas and imperfections in the tabletop.
Designed by Objekten’s CEO and Co-founder Alain Berteau, the Oval Table presents a softer alternative to traditional rectilinear tables. The rounded oval shape creates a versatile space that can be used as a dining room table, or even as a conference table or spacious desk in an office. The table folds for transport and storage.

In the open living and dining room of a hillside family home in Japan, Eames shell chairs surround a custom walnut table by Kagura. The upholstered seating is by Arflex. The architect, Masahiro Harada of Mount Fuji Architects Studio, also designed the custom kitchen island and stove vent.
The room also features built-in bookcases fabricated by Earthbound Industries and a vintage Sesann sofa by Gianfranco Frattini for Cassina.
Clerestory windows in Tyler's design studio provide plenty of light, while built-in bookshelves and flat files offer ample storage.
More treasured pieces, including a clear glass bud vase by William Gudenrath from the Corning Museum of Glass and a bronze palm from De Vera in San Francisco, occupy the living room bookshelves.
DeMarie used these images to determine the best way to update the recessed lighting and recreate the original shade of stain applied on the plywood walls. The photos are currently housed in Shulman’s archives at the Getty Research Institute.
