The 1949 Haver Home at 6534 N. 13th Street is located in Kensington Terrace, a Phoenix neighborhood with a cul-de-sac of 12 homes designed by the renowned local architect.
The half-wall that divides the living room and dining room is walnut, and was a clever way to separate the living and dining zones, and wrap the structural posts, which were painted a dark grey. There’s a television lift inside the cabinet that allows the TV to be stowed when not in use. The couch is from Design Within Reach, and the flooring throughout is white oak.
Each of the three bedrooms in the main home offer a bright area to escape for further solitude.
The roof terrace offers an outdoor lounge space, as well as views into the Seattle hills.
Light pours through clerestory windows in the master bathroom. Staying true to the home’s overall aesthetic, Sweet used simple, contrasting materials—white oak for the cabinets and Ann Sacks white tiles for the walls.

Horizontally-oriented windows emphasize and frame sweeping San Francisco views. A careful manipulation of light, volume, and elevation, the home offers unique vantage points of the city in different ways—both panoramic and private.
Earthy, organic materials were favored for the home's composition. The exterior palette features Pietra Serena limestone, color-integral stucco, metal panels, and stained cedar.
