Spread across two lots, the house has two wings: One acts as a more private, residential area, and the other is a communal living space. The designers sought to create “small, private, comfortable homes that were then tied back to a space for gathering, performance, creation, and events,” says architect James Carse, cofounder of Alao. Missy stands in the hallway that connects the two sides and opens onto an outdoor seating area and a garden designed by Garden Gnome Plantscapes.
