A view of the sauna building before the patio and seating were constructed on the other side. The log cabins were constructed by a specialist company, and another builder helped with the interior walls. Jussi-Pekka and his father did all the other building and landscaping work, apart from the electrical and plumbing—often working 12-hour days.

The original Cedar Cottage design by Cast Architecture, seen in this rendering, was a one-bedroom plan; Adi and Chris chose a larger two-bedroom model.
The dropped ceiling conceals mechanical systems and defines the dining room area, drawing the eye to the fabric chandelier by Pinch, and BDDW bronze trestle table with bleached maple top. The table is surrounded by Soft Edge 60 Chairs by HAY.
A built-in bench provides storage and the window was restored to its original dimensions. The wall light is the Ceramic Disc Surface Mount by In Common With.

In the kitchen, designers Alfie Koetter and Luke Studebaker worked with woodworker Aaron Hauser of Mason Haus to create custom new millwork inspired by the look and feel of the original cabinetry. Hauser sourced sequence matched natural birch that was rotary cut to create the cabinets.

Sean often paints by the studio’s windows, which are actually glass doors from Home Depot, a budget-friendly option.
A Geberit Sigma dual flush plate in Alpine White was chosen to complement the “light and white” look.
