The couple’s own art collection appears throughout the house, including Jesse Darling’s 2016 work, March of the Valedictorians, made of red-orange school chairs sprouting on eerily tall legs like striving poppies competing for sun, in Anna’s studio. The Eames chair Anna is sitting on is from Design Within Reach.

Thanh’s music studio looks out to the mudroom/garage on one side and the living/dining area on the other. The custom maple millwork throughout the house is by Bushwick fabricator Figure Ground. “We had to think about soundproofing, lighting, electrical requirements, and very specialized equipment—a lot of things that you don’t normally think about—but that’s what was so awesome about this project,” says Jahanshahi.
