Hawkins New York was born out of a palpable void in the lifestyle market for quality, accessible, home goods. Citing a lack of range in small-scale home goods production, Hawkins was founded on the aim to incorporate the concept of artisanal collective production, while maintaining a modern sensibility in design.

In 1959 the Galimberti brothers started up a handcrafts workshop that they called Flexform by Galimberti. They made sofas and upholstered chairs that ended up in beautiful buildings in Milan and villas in Lake Como. Their children in the 1960s transformed the workshop into an industry and in 1967 the company went public. Decades have been spent working on the overall quality of the product, innovating technique, and honing taste. Flexform is now one of the most sought after and renowned furniture brands in Italy and around the world. It features clean, simple lines, with elegant and adaptable solutions for living in comfort and style. Flexform has renowned designers on their team including Antonio Citterio, Carlo Columbo, Joe Colombo, and Paolo Nava.

Family, directed by Dong Ping Wong and Oana Stanescu, designs buildings. Ongoing projects include a water-filtering floating pool in New York named + POOL, a commercial and cultural showcase in central Moscow and a world-touring mountain. Past projects include a museum in Finland, a housing block in Dallas, a bridge in Slovenia, a peninsula in Denmark, a house in Norway, and some tents on the Bowery.

We are glassmakers. We are designers. We are a small committed team of people who put great care into our products. Hennepin Made was founded in Minneapolis in 2011 through the partnership of Joe Limpert and Jackson Schwartz with the common belief that handmade products have an essential place in our culture and everyday life. Joe was originally trained as a ceramicist and has always enjoyed the visceral nature of working with “hands on” materials. When he discovered glass he knew a switch was in order. This transition enabled an immediate fascination with the craft that lead to an apprenticeship with his instructor, Jackson Schwartz, who had returned from the Canberra School of Art in Australia. During the two years there were numerous conversations, dinners, and experiments with handmade glass in mind. This “research” informed a philosophy which was coupled with an entrepreneurial spirit to found Hennepin Made.
