Part architect part artist, Adam Kalkin reuses shipping containers to create scaleable, flexible, industrial-style homes at reasonable prices. Models range from around 2,000 square feet to more than 4,000.
Adam Hayes is an illustrator from Stoke-on-Trent, England. He graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2006 and continues to live and work in London. He frequently contributes to the UK Guardian, creating drawings for its travel section’s “Streets Ahead” series. For the July/August 2009 issue, he illustrated the green technologies used at Jim Austin’s Rimrock Ranch (“Off the Grid”).
Adam Fisher lives and writes from a houseboat anchored in a cove in the San Francisco Bay. He's never wanted to live anywhere else- until he visited the Kavner residence located in the middle of a private nature preserve between Big Sur and Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. "It's halfway between Henry Miller's library and Clint Eastwood's restaurant," Fisher says. "There isn't a better location in the world than that."
