Poritz & Studio is a design studio and online store offering a selection of high quality furniture, products, and architecture designed by Aaron Poritz. In addition, the studio offers goods from fellow makers, who like Poritz, create products that are designed to last. Poritz is an American-born designer who splits his time between Managua, Nicaragua and New York City. His architecture studies at the California College of the Arts instilled in him the principles of sustainability, a guiding force that continues to inform his design today. Taught wordworking by his grandfather, Poritz designs and creates heirloom-quality furnishings and accessories that are meant to endure over time. In many of his designs, Poritz uses hurricane-felled woods and plantation grown teak, furthering his focus on sustainability and the use of local materials.
