After Harvard, Jonas Honick Branson began his professional journey at Choate Rosemary Hall, where he taught history and coached basketball from 1977 to 1980. In 1980, Jonas joined The Branson School in Ross, California, where he would influence the next generation for 39 years. At Branson, he was instrumental in the classroom and basketball court, earning accolades for his inspirational teaching and successful coaching. He was honored with multiple Mt Tamalpais Cups, the William and Sara Kimball Distinguished Teacher Award in 2003, and the California State Basketball Coach of the Year in 2019.

In addition to his professional activities, Jonas is a sought-after speaker at basketball camps and clinics worldwide. He has made notable contributions to coaching education, including delivering insightful presentations at a Jr. NBA clinic in the Bahamas.
Furthermore, Jonas is committed to philanthropic efforts, particularly with the Nepal Freed Foundation, to help rebuild schools affected by the 2015 earthquake.
