Baldridge Architects is an award-winning Austin, Texas architecture studio with a depth of knowledge in modern design, construction and detailing. At the very core of our practice is the belief that architecture should perform equally at all scales, from the large-scale massing to the smallest detail. We favor a program-specific and site-specific approach, counseling our clients to maximize their budgets by investing in more thoughtful design and higher quality construction instead of larger spaces. We favor better spaces through rigorous design, durable materials, comprehensive detailing and the silent employment of sustainable features. From inception through construction, we deliver durable, contextual and responsible modern designs. In the aggregate, there is a sense of carefully considered solidity and deliberation to our projects that is "felt" more than seen. The combined experience in the firm includes high-end residential, hospitality, commercial, institutional, retail, modular, interior and furniture design as well as commercial tenant finish-out. Our work has been featured in numerous publications including The New York Times, Architectural Record, dwell, Design Bureau, National Geographic Traveler, Luxe and Metropolis as well as various regional publications. Sustainability is paramount in our designs. But it is no longer enough (or even desirable) that a project "appears" green or employs token recycled features. It is a core philosophy to our work. We would prefer that the projects merely be green without announcing themselves as such. In the past, we served as the general on our jobs - experience which directly informs our design work. Today, we maintain a presence in the field as subcontractors. If the subcontractors or artisans in a particular community are incapable or unwilling to deliver certain details, we are more than willing to do it ourselves. Quite simply, the small moments matter.
