The dining room serves as the hub for all activity. Original Series 7 chairs by Arne Jacobsen complement a table Maynard designed and dubbed the “Zero Waste Table,” since it utilizes every inch of a large wood sheet. To the right, a sliding door opens to the garden.

The front hallway links the living room to the kitchen and dining area. The existing apartment was originally a manufacturing loft space. NYC lofts being long and narrow with windows typically only at the front and rear façades can be somewhat dark. With this in mind we designed the apartment to have light filled spaces via rooftop skylights. Here a photo series by Bernd and Hilla Becher are washed with natural light from a large drum skylight not yet visible from this perspective. The hallway ceiling echoes the drum skylight with Munkegaard fixtures, one of our favorites from Louis Poulsen.

In the master bedroom, a Hästens bed is paired with an AJ sconce by Arne Jacobsen for Louis Poulsen. A vintage poster for the 1968 French film Stolen Kisses is a nod to Fabian’s career in advertising, as well as the time period in which the apartment was built.

Deam also designed all of the built-in furniture, including this bedside console that features an Arne Jacobsen sconce.

Fabric options include light pink, mint blue, ochre, and sand.

All fabrics, including the standard light pink, are in the felt-like Divina MD.

HOWE also introduced leather options, in cognac or wine red.

The Tongue chair is available with chrome or powder-coated-steel legs.

The Egg Chair, another Arne Jacobsen design—this one from 1958—was originally created for the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. Would today's numerous "inspired-by" copies really make Jacobsen roll in his grave, as Rosenkvist puts it?

In undertaking a gut renovation of a town house in Brooklyn’s Park Slope neighborhood, husband and wife Jesper Meyer and Rimjhim Dey drew upon design elements from their respective roots in Denmark and India to create a home that’s wholly serene and accented with subtle pops of bright color. American white-oak planks, finished with lye and pigmented with whitening oil from Danish company Junckers, line the staircase and floors throughout; the dining area is furnished with Ant chairs by Arne Jacobsen and a PH50 pendant by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen.

The kitchen is from Ikea and the dining chairs by Arne Jacobsen, but the table is pure Bornstein.

A Boston loft in a former textile factory receives a minimal, efficient kitchen at the hands of Bunker Workshop. The client wanted to be able to prepare meals efficiently, so a red steel pegboard backsplash lets him easily access cooking utensils. The cabinets are IKEA.

When it comes to an alarm clock, Santos says, “Just because it wakes you up every morning doesn't mean it has to be ugly. Make your alarm clock work for your schedule and your decor.” Designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1956, the City Hall Alarm Clock is a companion to Jacobsen’s iconic wall version, originally designed for the Rodovre City Hall building in Copenhagen.

Multiple skylights, including one over the kitchen, bring sunshine into the home while keeping it private from surrounding neighbors. Pendant lights by Arne Jacobsen for Louis Poulsen, hanging over a dining table by ercol furniture, provides additional illumination. “The kitchen-dining-living room is cozy, but it is large enough to entertain 12 people,” Thomson says. The green chair is a prototype from Barber Osgerby and the rug is by Kate Blee.
