The bathroom features Chromtech tile, a Toto toilet, Kohler vanity, and powder-coated steel countertop.

The spacious house features five bedrooms and six baths, plus a notable art collection and an in-home theatre.

The house that Henri Sayes designed for himself and his wife, Nicole Stock, is distinguished by a cutaway in the cedar cladding that mirrors the angular double-height space within. In the yard, a grassy berm, fashioned from earth excavated for the foundation, takes the place of a fence.

The restrained 820-square-foot interior is defined by the angular ceiling. Garlick left the prefabricated structural panels unfinished to save on material costs. A True North wood stove from Pacific Energy heats the house. Max, the family’s cat, naps on a vintage rug purchased on eBay.

The resulting building, its angular form inspired by Japanese origami—was designed and built in two and a half months in early 2007.

Due to zoning restrictions, the house's footprint had to be relatively small, so Svensen devised a solution: split levels. The library occupies a landing on the staircase and features shelves built by Atlanta's Dark Horse Woodwork.

One of the most challenging aspects of the build was incorporating the residents' request for a diverse material palette. The flooring is ash and the cabinetry is Mahogany. Cash Barnes custom fabricated the steel railing as well as the bridge and insect screens.

In the living room, Svenson opted for wide-plank ash floors and a fireplace from Malm. The room connects to the screened-in porch (accessed by folding doors) and has a view of the split-levels above. The jagged bridge leads to the residents' writing studios. "I wanted something that feels a little scary, that gives you energy when you walk across it," says Svenson.

Completed in 2008, the rectilinear home features a roofline with a dramatic parabolic curve that creates two bulbous volumes inside the home, one of which houses a curved skylit shower.

A screened-in porch was a must-have for the residents (they love to sit outside but hate mosquitoes) and influenced the building's asymmetrical shape. "The question became how can we integrate this into the design of a modern house," says architect Staffan Svenson. "Can it be a screen porch without looking like one?" He devised a plan to hang a horizontal louver system from the structure to give the illusion that the powder-coated steel fins hover in place. He used the same material for the guard rail on the second story.

The house was shaped by spatial restrictions. "The angled walls push the interior spaces outward both visually and as experienced," says Svenson. "The horizontal lines of the railings and screen porches add to that. To increase this perception the angled walls occur only in areas suspended in the air—they are never tied to the ground. The architect carved out a parking and storage area underneath the residence. "The house feels as though it floats above the ground plane," he says.

The house features a concrete rainscreen painted gray and Cor-Ten steel paneling around the exterior of the bedrooms. The horizontal louver theme around the dining room windows mimics the vocabulary established on the street-facing facade.

The first Wedge cabin was built in the factory in four days and shipped for display at a state fair in the summer.

The small, angular guesthouse that architect Todd Saunders designed for Steinar Jørgensen is defined by a patio that appears to sit in a cutaway in the spruce-clad volume. The red PS VÅGÖ chair is from Ikea.

George Nelson's book Tomorrow's House, classic Neutra homes, and the contemporary architecture from the sunny state of California's all provided inspiration for Peter Bracher's personal Genesis Project.

At the back of the house, the windows are sheltered by steel shades.

Denver Art Museum Extension Libeskind designed a titanium-clad addition to the Denver Art Museum that resembles the peaks of the Rocky Mountains and geometric rock crystals found in the foothills near Denver.

Jewish Museum Berlin Completed in 2001, Libeskind's thoughtful extension to the Jewish Museum Berlin features an expansive underground "void," meant to symbolize loss, that surfaces aboveground in an angular zinc structure.

The Delinea Pendant is a colorful glass hanging light that is defined by its sculptural silhouette. The pendant can be used on its own, or grouped with other pendants in the series to create a bold and graphic overhead lighting display. Use the Delinea for overhead lighting in a dining room, over a kitchen counter, or even in a bedroom or living space.

Debuting at ICFF 2014, David Weeks and Neal Feay Studio collaborated on a collection of trays. In response to Weeks's angular design (left), Alex Rasmussen of Neal Feay dreamed up its curved counterpart.

The structure contains a museum, shop, theater, and access to the factory where visitors can see the chocolate-production process.

Strömkajen Ferry Terminals (Marge Arkitekter: Stockholm, Sweden) The shape of these brass shelters near Stockholm’s seaside tourist mecca should be familiar to anybody taking snapshots: they're modeled after the cone of a film camera. Those taking photos are, in a sense, being framed themselves.

Built with a low profile to match the regional farm vernacular, the Red Hill Farm House stands out from its more rudimentary neighbors with an angular roofline that mimics mountainous terrain.

Outside, Saunders carefully preserved a pair of mature plum trees by building the patio around them.

Approached from the driveway, the home is accessed along a stone path that turns into a series of wide, wooden steps. The home's angular roofline is a dramatic form against the natural backdrop, but the wood cladding connects it to the site.
