Italian stone brand Antolini has partnered with design impresario Giulio Cappellini, who has selected the emerging talent Keiji Takeuchi to design their exhibition at the show. Called Out of Scale, the space will be dominated by Bianco Lasa Covelano marble, from the Alps of Val Venosta. “My idea was to replicate the feeling of walking inside quarries and museums—very tall and narrow passages,” says Takeuchi. “At the same time I wanted to make the space appear as if it were cut out from a single block of stone.”

Bertazzoni's 36-inch Professional series range in Arancio is even more stunning in person, and brought the brightest color we saw to the show floor.

Keiji Takeuchi's exhibition for Italian natural stone brand Antolini was an easy pick for best in show, stopping attendees in their tracks. "I wanted to make a museum out of stone," says Takeuchi, who was handpicked by Giulio Cappellini to design the booth. "This project was very much in the Italian style—when something clicks, it just works."

We applaud the emphasis on sustainability and energy savings we saw articulated at the show. Kolbe Windows & Doors tops the list, with their windows snagging Energy Star's most efficient rating for 2015.

Among the new colors from Dekton by Cosentino—made from glass, porcelain, and quartz—is Irok, which plays well with blue, another trend we spotted at the show.

Most of Häfele's new offerings, such as the LeMans Highboard corner storage system with low shelves for easy reach, had a universal design angle. Others included low cabinet shelves that extend automatically, and a closet bar on a pulley system that lowers clothing down to the user.

According to the National Kitchen and Bath Association, around half of their members reported installing an outdoor kitchen in a project last year. This is good news for outdoor grill brand Kalamazoo, which has branched out into the pizza oven game. This one heats to 800 degrees and cooks a perfect Margherita pizza in around three minutes flat.

Designed for small spaces, the 24-inch electric range was part of a tiny kitchen outfitted by Bosch that included a range hood, dishwasher, and stackable laundry all in a space just big enough for one person to operate comfortably.

As Wright’s first L.A. project, the iconic Hollyhock House was built between 1919 and 1921 and was filled with challenges from beginning to end. Enter Aline Barnsdall, the wealthy oil heiress and arts patron who held the dream of having a live-in venue to produce her own avant-garde plays. Wright wanted to create a design that would be defined by the region and that took advantage of Southern California's temperate climate. To do this, each interior space is echoed with an exterior space in the form of pergolas, porches, outdoor sleeping quarters, glass doors, and rooftop terraces that look out to the Hollywood Hills and the Los Angeles Basin.
