The home office area was meant to be a refuge and the place where our client would spend a lot of time both working and relaxing. It needed to be bright and airy, modern, but comfortable. We used neutral grey paint on the walls, bold chevron curtains, and bespoke whitewash wood floors. The orange and bronze accents throughout were brought in in order to contrast against the black, white and grey main elements of the space. Two modern end tables on either side of the sofa with Zebra wood tops, also offer a touch of warmth and contrast.

The interior of the Airstream was reimagined using reclaimed materials. The flooring is made of old-growth Douglas fir, and the ceiling features yellow cedar sawmill offcuts. Ryan crafted the built-in sofa using more cedar sawmill offcuts, while Catherine sewed the drapery and the upholstery, using fabric she collected from various thrift shops and IKEA.

"These high-performing European windows have substantial frames that are designed to not conduct cold and are also very well-sealed," the architects add. They used Schuco AWS75 Aluminium for the large first-floor units and Schuco SI82 uPVC for the smaller second-floor units. The striking drapery is from The Shade Store.
