Toronto multidisciplinary design studio M-S-D-S created a solid beech ladder-style rack for a slim storage solution.

The home’s contemporary flair is even more apparent on the upper level, which has illuminated glass-inlaid flooring. The large and airy loft is currently set up as MJ’s home office.

A review in the New York Times says of Guangzhou Opera House, "The beauty of Ms. Hadid’s design stems partly from the skill with which she knits her forms into this insipid context [the project stands at the edge of a vast, featureless park]... [A] sequence of spaces ties the opera house into the park around it, redeeming what until now was little-used space...It establishes the opera house and its grounds as part of the public realm—something that belongs to everyone, not just elite opera fans. The Guangzhou Opera House is a monument to a particular crossroads in China’s history, as well as to Ms. Hadid’s stellar career."

A product of Canadian designer Chloé Douglas, the Architecture and Exteriors Pinterest board includes both famous and more unknown locations from around the world. With over 380,000 followers, Ms. Douglas is clearly doing something right. See the rest of the board.

The hotel was built in 1910 by a Norwegian bricklayer for Ms. Edith Jennings, who sought to divide the structure into a space for work and play—specifically opera. While the building still serves a dual purpose, it now houses a hotel on the upper level, with retail space below.

Bild Design introduced the new structure seamlessly with the help of builders A.J. Christiana Construction. Ms. Doris, whose tarp-clad house to the left lost much of its roof when Hurricane Katrina struck, checks out her new neighbor.

The main bathroom is unified with the rest of the home thanks to the same burnt cement flooring. A solid wood countertop was installed by Inovart Woodworking, and the adjoining white quartz countertop was picked from MSA Marmoraria.

Four samples of the recipes included in the promo package: "The Martin," aka Old-Fashioned for Steve Martin; The "Mockingjay," aka Girl on Fire for Jennifer Lawrence; "The Lover," aka All Nighter for Ms. Love; "The Dude," which is of course a White Russian.

The framed aluminum of the corner window by Natralight breaks up the roof of recycled slate tiles, which is entirely of a piece with the roofs around it. The Scottish oak cladding comes from Abbey Timber and the black aluminum cladding from MSP Scotland.

littleBits users have crafted talking puppets, flickering lanterns, and robots that draw. An untitled work of Ms. Bdeir’s made of printed circuit board, analog components, and magnets was included in “Talk to Me,” MoMA’s 2011 design exhibition which explored objects that establish an emotional, sensual, or intellectual connection with their users.
