A C-Frame catamaran currently docked in Prague’s Holesovice neighborhood, Port X is a buoyant dwelling for modular, modern living. Prague’s Atelier SAD finished the concept last fall, collaborating with a company that develops sailing boats to fabricate its curved exterior.

“It’s oriented for the river," says architect Adam Jirkal. “It doesn’t have an engine. We wanted it to be as low to the water as possible, to really work with the water.”

The flexible concept can range from a one-person dwelling to a family-sized float with a 1076-square-foot floor plan and a 538-square-foot terrace.

X marks the spot with House Industries’ X Ornament. An expressive font, the X has an ornate quality that dresses up the design. In addition to capturing the letter itself, the X also represents a kiss, making this a sweet token for a loved one.

In the home, users can controll their lighting through the fully programmable and customizable X1 touchpad, complete with preset lighting arrangements for various occasions.

Another Sieger Design collection for Duravit, X-Large, incorporates oversized furniture components for the bathroom. A detail we especially like is the knife edge along the top of the vanity: very sleek.

Among the textiles on offer will be handwoven scarves and towels from Loomed, who recently represented Louisiana in our 50 Reasons to Love Design Made in America roundup. Loomed co-founders Paul and Molly Babineaux are part of a handful of New Orleans designers who will be present at the shop's Meet the Designers event on May 9.
