Alongside Nagasaka's Resin Collection, British designer Faye Toogood has created an atmospheric installation called 'The Conductor'. The interactive piece is made up of 160 fluorescent bulbs connected up to a switchboard of cast resin switches. Visitors can operate the switches, which each play a different note when flicked on and off, to create their own personal light and audio show within the space.

Part of a longstanding modernist tradition of visual trickery, the coir coconut fiber Cuboid Door Mat's geometric shape and shading give the illusion of a three dimensional object.

Sebastian Wrong's font clock for Established & Sons symbolizes to a tee the era of design since 2000. We're living in an internet age in which typography has become a part of pop culture no longer relevated to kerning-happy designers. The Font Clock isn't terribly expensive, and it's quirky yet massively appealing.

The Sarti house—like much of the furnishings inside—is neatly hidden amongst its more established counterparts. In the early evening, Sarti’s studio takes on a lanternlike appearance.

The native plantings in the courtyard, which is enclosed by a wall for privacy in the suburban setting, visually link it to the established eucalyptus trees at the front and rear of the property. The home’s dark cladding is accented by rose gold stainless steel panels.

San Francisco’s modernists were faced with the issue of building within a firmly established stylistic tradition—think bay windows and gingerbread. Henry Hill’s 1947 renovation of a 1908 Victorian tucked away on an alley in historic Russian Hill provides a remarkable response to the dilemma.

The Dr. Richard Davis House, also known as "Woodside," is situated on a wooded two-acre lot in an established and conveniently located neighborhood in Woodside, Indiana. This unique home, which is on the National Registry of Historic Places, was built in 1952 and has been completely renovated by the current owner.

Board-formed concrete walls create the core of the house and establish its organic feel. The bluestone-clad addition appears to gently slide under the roof eave of the existing home, establishing a seamless connection between old and new.

In the sitting room, folding doors open to the lush backyard, establishing a seamless indoor-outdoor connection.

North-facing skylights were cut out from the roof to brighten the interiors and establish a visual connection to the bushy site.
