The orientation of the 2,010-square-foot home allows for a playful rhythm of light, shadow, and air that gives it its atmospheric name, Cloud House.

Designed by Benjamin Cherner, the Cherner Lounge Arm Chair is defined by its welcoming, curved shape that recalls the original 1958 Cherner chair design by Benjamin’s father, Norman Cherner. The molded plywood shell, solid bentwood arm, and laminated wood base flow fluidly into one another, which gives the lounge chair an organic, calming sensibility. With a pronounced woodgrain and unobtrusive shape, the chair is an excellent accompaniment to modern interiors. Each chair is made in the Cherner studio in Connecticut.

Pieces are currently in the permanent collections of MoMA and the V&A Museum, but it'll look right at home in your abode, too. Head to a used book store for a vintage bartender's guide, such as this one from etsy.com for the ultimate accompaniment. We traveled to Detroit recently and think that these hand-stitched leather coasters from Hugh would also make a fine complement to the set.
