The Stop2Go Watch from Swiss Company Mondaine takes the classic Swiss Railway Clock and reimagines it as a sophisticated wristwatch. Modeled after the Swiss Railway Clock designed by Hans Hilfiker in 1944, the watch captures the clock’s classic red second hand, along with its subtle twist. The red hand sweeps a full circle in 58 seconds—instead of the typical 60 seconds—and pauses for two seconds at 12 o’clock so the black minute hand can advance.

A stop at the outdoor shower reveals the red steel frame beneath the wooden siding.

The 3.5 meter high glass section can be sealed by sparse magazine ports that sow the sunlight and stops gusts through the sliding glass door.

Even the bus stop outside the Vitra campus is by a design star: Englishman Jasper Morrison.

A skylight illuminates the master bathroom, which is entirely outfitted with Arblu Tulip fixtures. The orange floor is Kenbrock K2 studded rubber. Note how the divisional wall stops short of the ceiling—a decision that the architects implemented to “create volume and height, which celebrate the curve of the ceiling.”

Naturally all that openness makes the Wisnu residence the perfect place for lizards and the like to stop off for a nap.

A sitting area in the front yard encourages neighbors to stop by for a chat.

The new wooden walls stop short of the ceilings, preserving the moldings and the outline of the historic floor plan.

Another stop on the tour was Neutra’s Ohara house, built 1959–1961 and now owned and faithfully kept up by designer David Netto.

David Rowland stacking chairs join a 1970s Italian glass-and-steel table in the dining room. The daughter loves being able to stop in to visit. “I’m over there ten times a day. It’s brought me such peace.”

Next stop on the tour was the Midwest Distribution Center, which houses Herman Miller's extensive archives. It was built in 1988 by Van Dyke Verburg Architects.

Designed as an experiential retreated for the Henrybuilt team, founder and CEO Scott Hudson explains, "We had the idea to stop doing showrooms and to start doing houses that our staff can travel to, and live in, and actually live with the product and learn by experiencing it how to improve it."

“It’s very similar to what you’d see for corn storage,” the homeowner says of the custom designed stairwell screen. On the landing, a long vertical window frames a picturesque view of the property. As a passageway that you would typically walk through quickly, the design details in the stairwell create an experience where you instead stop and linger.

For classic Madrid kitsch and foreign imports, Victimas de Celuloide is the sure-thing stop-off for anyone looking to add something unusual to their home décor.
