Architect Ken Meffan's ten-years-in-the-making home is located in the tiny Northern California town of Rough and Ready—a term that might as aptly refer to the house itself. Though all the on-site plants are mundane home-center varieties, they grow to uncanny heights in the moist, sunny environment.

A best-selling product at the Dwell Store, the Bosske cube is available in a small, large, and trio planter. Structured in a clear acrylic cube, the planter is designed to reveal the inner workings of each plant—soil, roots, and all.

In addition to its fleet of cube planters, Bosske designed the Sky Planter, which can be hung from a ceiling or covered porch. The interior of each planter includes a self-watering reservoir, limiting the amount of time one needs to spend watering. The hanging model also limits the amount of floor or table space that traditional planters take up, making them perfect options for small apartments.

The Bosske cubes can be used to house flowers, giving a pop of color to an apartment, or a variety of other plants. The trio planter makes for a great herb garden on a kitchen windowsill or counter.

Steelcase will present eight new product introductions, including the Regard collection, which integrates modular seating, casegoods, space dividers, flexible power locations, tables, and planters. Though the line was designed specifically for the education space, like libraries or student lounges, it features many flexible components that would be applicable for the modern office.

Pink Umbrellas by Claude Cormier Canada’s Sugar Beach, located in downtown Toronto, offers a whimsical way to experience sand and water in an urban environment. To ratchet up the fun, Montreal designer Claude Cormier dreamed up these pink umbrellas to shade visitors in an area also featuring a colorful fountain display. The hues at Sugar Beach fit the name and contrasts the downtown core.

The fully glazed facade physically and visually connects the interiors to the natural environment.
