Towards the end of 1958, Maserati developed this front-engined, 2-liter prototype Tipo 60 at a time when many race car designers were starting to lean towards rear-engined designs. In 1959, it was tested for the first time on the road between Modena and Verona, and went on to partake in multiple races. It retired at the end of 1963.

Handmade bricks from Petersen bricks are a prominent component in the house, stretching from the façade and walkway into the ground floor’s living space. Unifying the space was important to Thomson: the presence of Mosa ceramic tile throughout creates visual continuity. An Ernest Race chair sits next to a Hans Wegner sofa in the living room.

How do you view diversity at The Switzer Group?

I look at, not just as gender or race, but as: let's open the doors up. Let's open 'em up and allow people to perform. I really don't look at [diversity] as a way to sell. From the start, when I started this firm, it was all about performance, service, quality.

Random Studio, an interactive digital design studio based in Amsterdam, and Petrovsky & Ramone created Our Kisses, a wish-bone shaped contraption that invites viewers to kiss one end while a camera hidden at the other end records them.

The project aimed to bring strangers together onscreen with a simple human gesture that extends beyond race, age, and gender. The installation was originally created for the Oxymoron exhibition of Petrovsky & Ramone during Beijing Design Week 2013.

The architect brought the solid walls of certain rooms down to 7’ 8”, filling the remaining 4’ 2” with glass. This defining feature allows sunlight penetrate deep into the core of the space. The clients say the bright reds, oranges, and yellows of sunsets race across the ceiling and white walls.

Romy Northover on creating ceramic, like this piece from the Mountain Bolt collection: "As ceramics has such a drawn out process there are many times when you can be open to receive information. Applying too much pressure and control and having a too rigid preconceived idea of the end result would be a mistake, which is why I don’t like to make endless repeats but more individual custom works and limited edition series. There have been many times when unexpected outcomes have proved to be the most successful pieces. Clay to me represents a sort of freedom. It's not an exclusive material. Anyone can pick it up and make something there are no boundaries, no borders, no race, no gender, no beginning, no end."

Melbourne Cricket Ground

One of the world’s most famous cricket venues, the MCG in inner Melbourne is also Australia’s largest stadium and is referred to within Victoria as the “spiritual home of Australian sport.”Opened in 1854, the MCG hosted Australia’s first bicycle race, served as the centerpiece stadium for the 1956 Summer Olympics and the 2006 Commonwealth Games and fills to the rafters for the Australian Football League Grand Final every year in September. The MCG is known for its atmosphere, and if you’re feeling especially loutish head to Bay 13, the notorious section of tiered seats that occupies part of the Great Southern Stand. This is where the uber-rowdy and enthusiastic regularly congregate. Photo by: Matthew 70
