Coming from Portland, Oregon, this Porsche 356 SL Coupe was one of only four cars that were prepared for the 24 Hours of le Mans race in 1951. It was the only one that made it to the race without crashing. Though it finished 20th overall, it won first in its class (1100 cc), which became Porsche’s first win in an international race and marked the beginning of their extended connection to international endurance racing.

This pouffe from Donna Wilson for SCP fits the bill. The Treecloud is knitted in Scotland from 100% lambs wool using a traditional Fair Isle knitting technique. If you look closely you will be able to make out the tiny clouds and trees that make up the pattern."

Design firm Roman and Williams led creative direction of the interiors, manifesting an immediate sense of Chicago in the rooms and communal living spaces. Woven fabric instillations commissioned by local artisans adorn each private room, squarely centered above the beds to create a striking sense of place, capturing Midwestern pastimes like quilting circles and sewing bees in a fresh, modern, design-forward way.
