Speaking of fun scale and color, it was great to see Dwell favorite La Chance debut a generously sized booth at Maison & Object this year, a first for the duo. We’ve been watching them closely since their 2012 debut at Salone del Mobile in Milan, and judging from their strong jumble of offerings, including pieces by Noe Duchaufour Lawrance, Luca Nichetto, and Note Design Studio, all presented in a confident backdrop underscoring exuberant colors and forms, things are progressing nicely.

Throughout the house, there are a number of details that are clearly "Lautner." Working with Goldstein, the architect was given the opportunity to design custom furniture pieces, which is something he didn’t normally get the chance to do. Though this two-bedroom house did not have any accessible features, its layout presented the Lavenders with the chance to rekindle one of their favorite shared pastimes—the rehabilitation of old homes.

This Mallorcan villa was Pawson's firm's first full architectural project. It was originally built for German art dealers, who Pawson had met by chance on an Italian beach. Acclaimed for his minimalism, this beautiful abode is no different.

In a historic and flood prone city the Dorgenois residence is raised with most program on the second floor. The architects designed this home for themselves using it as a chance to experiment with Corten cladding and perforated screen, materials less common in this climate.

Architect Doug Wells and his wife, Sarah, jumped at the chance to turn a former homeowners’ association clubhouse in Colorado into a vacation retreat. The existing structure is flanked by two new prefab buildings: a garage and a main house.
