96 Desert Breeze Way by Judson Beaumont

Being located in Southern California, Gallery Nucleus was very aware of the impact that Charles and Ray Eames left on Los Angeles when curating the exhibition. “We encouraged our artists to showcase what immediately comes to their mind when they think ‘Eames,’ but with their own expression and creativity.” The gallery says.

Reading Club 2000 in Manila, Philippines-Reading Club 2000 began when Hernando Guanlao—known to friends and neighbors as Nanie—sought out a way to honor the memory of his parents, who instilled in him the love for reading. He set old textbooks of his own outside his Manila home to see if others would be interested in borrowing them. They were. 12 years later, Nanie's library now contains somewhere around 2,500 books (he doesn't know the exact count), and he even runs a "book bike" service, where he delivers reading material to the poorest communities in Manila. “We kept the tones very neutral because we wanted the colors of the garden to come through,” Ong says. “Light also plays an important role here, and again the neutral tones help highlight the changes in the light and sky.” Ong’s team used Melbourne's Ajar Furniture and Design store to supply the home's furnishings, and this Marcel Breuer Club Chair Model B3 sits off the dining room.

The Audiophile

To some, speakers are the most alluring part of any audio system, and for most audiophiles, the stark, machined-aluminum enclosures of the Magico Q7 Mk II loudspeakers are equivalent to a stealth fghter jet. Where most speakers have screwedtogether fiber-board boxes, Magicos feature aluminum skeletons and skins and are bolted together for a sturdy build. The speaker drivers have graphene cones, and the high-frequency tweeter has a diaphragm of diamond-coated beryllium for maximum rigidity and sound transmission. Pricing matches the stratospheric aspirations at $229,000 per pair.

Highbury Square (London, United Kingdom: 2006)

This former premier league field in London, a prime example of hallowed football ground, went fallow because the team was moving to a bigger stadium. Instead of being neglected, the area got a makeover, becoming a series of Art Deco apartments with a massive shared garden.
