Lightroom 1.0, a photography studio, is a freestanding structure on the property. “Together, they represent an autobiography of my career,” Carpenter says.
British artist Hannah Sawtell and technologist Avi Flombaum created sawbaum.com, where users can create visual collages using multiple vine streams. "We wanted it to look like a visual comic book, with overlapping panels," said Flombaum. "And we wanted it to be fun!" Photo courtesy Rhizome.
Airbus is one of many companies in the UK that are using their engineering expertise to produce ventilator parts.
From August to October the installation traveled through 10 US cities as part of the new Hyundai Sonata Uncensored campaign. For more information visit Sonata Uncensored.

Big Jambox by Jawbone, $299.

With its undulating grille and geometric shape, the Big Jambox, which was launched in 2012 by Jawbone, is perhaps the most recognizable portable Bluetooth speaker on the market.
Core by Mass Fidelity, $499

Utilizing a special audio rendering technique called Wave Field Synthesis, the Core eliminates the need for listeners to sit between two space-consuming speakers to enjoy optimal sound performance.
"We [didn't] want it to look like one of these clichés of the creative office where people work on horse saddles and have meeting in ski lifts," says Simon Caspersen, Space 10's Director of Communication. Instead the design of Space 10's interior focuses on offering a wide variety of workspaces, enabling its users to shift their postures throughout the day and avoid unhealthy and non-stop sitting. Custom furniture, such as the combination couch and table seen here, strike a balance of simple beauty and functionality.
Its inaugural exhibtion, “Fresh living Lab,” showcases six products from young designers that highlight how our everyday activities can impact—for better or worse—the environemnt. This includes, according to Space 10, "a table that charges your phones by turning heat into electricity, to a chair that rewards you for exercising, or an art piece that reveals itself when your energy consumption decreases."
Sound1 by 11+, $85.

Korean design studio cloudandco created this charmingly minimalist Bluetooth speaker, which is available at the Dwell Store. Its cylindric form is a welcome departure from the boxier shapes so common in speaker design.
Dubbed Space 10, it's located in Copenhagen's up-and-coming meatpacking district. Space 10 isn't actually a part of IKEA, rather, it's an independent institution that IKEA is supporting. “We feel a real connection to the bigger purpose of Space10," says Göran Nilsson, IKEA Concept Innovation Manager. "IKEA already does a lot to improve the lives of the many people, and with Space10 we hope to take this vision even further. Whether or not the solutions are immediately relevant to our current business is not important. What matters is to look into new directions and be ready to make changes.”

The space is also filled with plants that will freshen and recycle the air. All in all, Space 10's design and furnishings create a fun and loose environment that can take whatever's thrown it way. "It supplies this feeling [of being] a playground," says Nikoline Dyrup Carlsen, Architect MAA and founding partner of Spacon & X. While Space 10 is open to the public today, those not in Copenhagen can tour the hub in this video.
The "eat, meet, and read area" was, as its name suggests, designed to be accommodate a wide range of activities. Flexibility was important in the design throughout; wide open spaces and adaptable furniture (some sport wheels for easy movement, others items can fold-up for storage) mean the space can be easily adapted for a 200-person lecture or 60-person workshop. In terms of the overall aesthetic, "We wanted to create a space that's conducive to creativity and innovation but not be too distrubing with too many bright colors and contrasts. We still wanted to keep a very earthy and pleasant tone," says Svend Jacob Pedersen, Creative Director and Founding Partner of Spacon & X.
805 by Braven, $200.

Available in nine vibrant colorways, the 805 wireless Bluetooth speaker by Braven is not meant to blend quietly into your decor, but interact with and enhance it.
Prism by Lexon, $55.

This adorable clock radio and rechargeable speaker designed by Joe Doucet appears to recline backward on whatever surface it rests.
Around the corner from the P-Patch was Marination, a Korean taco truck and another Twitter tip. The line took about 10 or 15 minutes to get through, which I was told was incredibly short for this popular mobile eatery.
Lastly, I have to mention one other small booth, one that I spent about 10 minutes touching everything inside it. Daniel Ogassian is a Los Angeles based industrial designer who creates these geometric tiles, which in my opinion, are stunning.
