Writer/producer Vanessa McGee has purchased an award-winning architectural home in the Los Angeles hills.
The home, designed by Guy Painchaud, was one of five selected for the 2018 Dwell on Design Home Tour and featured on HGTV’s, What you get for the Money.
Originally built in the 1960s, the two bedroom, two bathroom abode was rebuilt from the ground up with the original footprint expanded in the process to add a lower level, an additional deck, a library nook, and a media room.
Designed by Painchaud to make the most of the warm California climate and allow for an abundance of natural light to illuminate the space, a slight cantilevering of the living area allows the corner of the living room to be wrapped in a continuous expanse of glass, dramatically opening the space to beautiful views. The living area also features a fireplace, perfect for relaxing by and enjoying the vistas of leafy green treetops.
With clean lines and neutral, earthly tones throughout, the home also boasts the finest modern designer elements including custom cabinetry in the kitchen, motorized shades, surround-sound in the lower-level media room, and exquisite fixtures and features in the bathrooms.
Outdoors, entertaining is a breeze with a courtyard located right off the kitchen. And rest and relaxation can be found on the upper deck, which is perfect for lounging in the sun while enjoying the sweeping views. The lower deck, nestled amidst the trees, is an intimate space perfect for a restful retreat.
This Hollywood Hills residence was represented by William Baker (the seller) and Eldon Daetweiler of The Agency, while Laura Epstein from Acme Real Estate and Joy Bolger from Compass represented McGee.
