Working with a tough budget for a completely custom home built with SIPs panels, a commercial grade kitchen, and a well-known local modern architect, the only way to make all of this a reality for us was to take-on the role of general contractor ourselves. Our home was built on the last available parcel, in an Indianapolis neighborhood that was originally built in the 1980s. With lots of character to the land including a raw forrest and a grade-change of 18ft from the top of our hill down to the road, we wanted to hire the right modern architect that built our home for the land, as opposed to flattening and knocking-down trees. Beautifully positioned atop of the hill, our home was rotated in a way that made the surrounding mature trees our privacy, in a home filled with large, un-covered windows. And because of the height of our home, we have views of Geist Reservoir from above the treetops. Our home is truly an example of the famous Frank Lloyd Wright quote "Form follows function!"
