The Octagon House

A cross laminated timber house designed on Sketchup, computer cut in the Czech Republic and delivered to Montana in four forty foot containers.
The brief was for a two bedroom, two bathroom house with room for a workshop and a yoga space and centered on a sunken seating area. All the main living, cooking and primary bedroom to be on the same level.
Built on a significant slope and imperfect soils the 12" slab was laid on 36" of Geofoam. Wood fiber insulation exterior to the CLT, triple glazed windows by Neuffer and heating is air to water heat pump by Arctic Heat Pump
The house was completed in 2022 and has proven to be very user friendly.
