This home, designed by The Alter Architect's Studio (alterarchitects.com) and built in 2013, is located in one of Charlotte's oldest neighborhoods, Plaza Midwood. Its narrow proportions (18ft wide, 85ft long), extensive window walls, and deep overhangs create a striking presence while maintaining a modest posture on the street. The 1400sqft home is surrounded by mature trees, and uses passive heating and cooling strategies as it's primary means of climate control. Living at The Narrow Escape enhances ones awareness and appreciation for nature, even while being centrally located in a major metro area.
