The idea of how to create an open, dynamic, contemporary office space inside a rather banal commercial building with a small area made the design problem challenging. A 650 sq.ft space on the second floor of a multi storied building with glazing on the east and southern wall defines the project.
Right from the onset we felt the need to keep the atelier open and transparent, both visually and philosophically. We believe people live righteously in transparency. The team interact more closely with each other and work together in such environment.
The openness will also render a more spacious feel to the otherwise small room.
The material palette for the project is very minimal. We have used white walls, mild steel sheets, rods and box sections for furniture, marble chips and marble powder for terrazzo flooring, cement plastered walls, and salvaged wood from old buildings for all wood works.
Storage shelves for computer systems are made of recycled wood. Custom made to accommodate CPU at the bottom and a drawer unit on top .
