Classic and Cooling Lake House Blues
As Classic Blue is lauded as the 2020 Pantone Color of the Year, it is finding its way into homes and hideaways everywhere. For one Arkansas Lake House, the interiors were dressed to coordinate and complement the cool waters that lie beyond the back door. With multiple shades of deep to azure, aqua to sky, blue was used throughout this sun-drenched and inviting lakeside retreat.
Designed by author and interior designer, Shayla Copas, this lake house encompassed an open and window-lined breakfast area and kitchen bathed in rich shades of blue. Organic cast metal counter seating lined the kitchen bar adjacent to a wall covered in artwork in classic blue. Neutral upholstered deep seating in the living room, accented with decorative pillows and occasional seating, continued the classic blue presentation.
The master bedroom pulled an aqua hue into accessories, upholstery and draperies to coordinate with neutral furnishings and unique lighting. Guests to the home are welcomed with rich teal blue and navy bedding in one room with teal upholstered accents. Large contemporary artwork repeats the hues as well as accessories within the room’s décor. Sky blue walls, accent pillows and artwork were selected to coordinate with a unique bed design within another guest retreat.
The homeowners and visitors are guaranteed to be anything but blue in this welcoming and calming designer lake house.
