The Hideout Cabin referred to by its owners as a “hideout to escape the city and recharge” built in 2017 does exactly that. The 1,000 sq ft home is a modern pacific northwest cabin escape on 2.5 private acres in the Leavenworth area. This is the quintessential setting for such an exquisitely designed and relaxing space for family or friends. The architecture responds to the landscape by lightly touching the earth and minimally impacting the site as it weaves through the existing ponderosa pine forest. The pure form of the building is sculpted with locally sourced cedar siding, durable standing seam metal roofing and expansive glass windows. All of which are oriented for privacy, light and views constantly framed by the changing landscape of the mountains, pine forest and weather scapes like paintings in an art gallery. The minimalist yet practical interior surfaces are primarily clad in modern wood paneling coupled with mid-century modern furnishings creating a timeless yet sophisticated ambiance that is very cozy but also very spacious with all the necessary amenities one could need from a mountain retreat. Every detail of the house seems meticulously created at just the right scale. The cabin has a mixture of essential amenities and distinct qualities of a quiet nature cabin which creates just the right amount of seclusion.
